Interesting Facts

1. Alf Murray who became President of the G.A.A in 1964 won an Armagh Junior Championship medal with Clans in 1931.
2. Clans played in the South West Antrim league before they affiliated with the Armagh board in 1929.
3. Clans were the first North Armagh club to win the Armagh Senior Championship title in 1949.
4. Four Clans players captained the Armagh senior team in Ulster Championship Finals and two in Ulster Minor Championship Finals. Harry Hoy in 1961, Jimmy Smyth in 1977, Jim McKerr in 1981 and Colum McKinstry in 1982. Brian Seeley in the 1951 Minor Final and Martin Kavanagh in 1968.
5. Five Clans players have played in goals for Armagh. Henry Morrow in the '30s, Eamon McMahon in the '50's, Padge Scullion in the '70's, Martin Devlin in the '90's and Sean Morrow on the Armagh Minor team in 1951 (this could  soon be six).
6. Clans were the first club from Ireland to play a competitive game outside of Ireland. They played Glasgow in Scotland in the Ulster Club Championship in 1972 and also in 1974.
7. Clans were the first club to win the Ulster Club Championship title three times in a row.
8. Clans verses U.C.D. in 1974 was the first All-Ireland Club Final to be televised.
9. Clans are the only Armagh Club who have three individual All-Star Winners.
10. Clans are the only club to have contested all the Championship grades in one year - 1969.
11. Clans Senior Team was suspended for six months in 1968 but still went on to win the First Division title.
12. Clans completed the treble of winning the Ulster Club title, the Armagh Senior Championship title and the Division One title in 1972, 1973 and 1974.
13. Neil Lennon and Gerald Taggart are registered players with the Clan's.
